The next best Swiss

Man, it's end of February. Where has the time gone to?
I just finished another part of my long-run project (http://zedsnappies.blogspot.de/2011/07/project-all-varieties-of-pre-1812.html), a display of soldiers of the 4th Swiss infantry regiment which fought for the French.
Nothing spectacular, I know. But for finishing my project, I'll have to paint "standard" units as well.
Nevertheless, it's alway good to finish something. And with these guys being done, my personal counter has dropped to slightly above 200. Next will be a slightly more unusual sort of troops: Wurzburg jaeger.
I wanted to paint them for quite a long time now - dark green uniforms with black breast, cuffs&collar and light yellow pipings. Looks marvellous.

Regarding those Russian hussars, I'm just not getting through to it. At the moment, I have some other projects to finish - mainly diorama works for this years' competitions. Therefore, I spent lesser time on the hussar think and Ben - I can fully understand you. There's a certain moment when you simply have enough of them. So what's up with the project? I have 3 of 13 riders done, 6 of 13 horses are completed. They look like this:

Btw. - for one of my small dioramas, I decided to work with a tree. I ordered it here at this guy: http://bookman-miniaturen.blogspot.de/2012_10_01_archive.html I confess that this hand-made tree wasn't that cheap, but it was certainly worth its' price.

  1. The Swiss look good as well as the horses. The border on the saddle-cloth looks perfect! I look forward to the jaegers with their dreaded, dark uniforms :D
